In 1983 starte de [[KRO]] op [[Hilversum 3]] met het programma [[Don't Stop]]. De platen voor dit programma werden gemixed door [[Rogier Rumke]]. Al snel veranderde de naam van het programma in '''And the Beat Goes On'''. Tot en met 1985 werd dit programma van een uur uitgezonden, eerst op de woensdag van 13:00 tot 14:00 uur, later op de zondag van 12:00 tot 13:00 uur.

De doelgroep van het programma bestond uit het jonge discopubliek. De mixen werden verzorgd door drie DJ's die afwisselend de mixen samenstelde en mixte: [[Leo Cotino]], [[Peter Duykersloot]] en [[Ton Poppes]]. In totaal zijn er 82 afleveringen uitgezonden.
Tot en met 29 september 1985 werd dit programma van een uur uitgezonden. In eerste instantie op de woensdagmiddag van 14:00 tot 15:00 uur, later op de zondagmiddag van 12:00 tot 13:00 uur. Het programma bestond uit twee delen, waarin twee keer een half uur mix van dezelfde mixer werd uitgezonden. Op het half uur werd de mix onderbroken door een presentator, die de afgespeelde platen van het eerste half uur afkondigde, waarna de mix werd vervolgd. Aan het einde van het programma werd nogmaals afgekondigd welke platen er het laatste half uur gedraaid waren.

In 1983 (startdatum onbekend) startte de KRO op Hilversum 3 in navolging van het nachtelijke mixprogramma op VOO In The Mix van Ben Liebrand, met het programma Don't Stop The Music van 14.00 tot 15.00 uur op de woensdagmiddag.[1] De platen voor dit programma werden in eerste instantie gemixt door Rogier Rümke. Al snel veranderde in maart 1984 de naam van het programma in And the Beat Goes On.

Tot en met 29 september 1985 werd dit programma van een uur uitgezonden. In eerste instantie op de woensdagmiddag van 14:00 tot 15:00 uur, later op de zondagmiddag van 12:00 tot 13:00 uur. Het programma bestond uit twee delen, waarin twee keer een half uur mix van dezelfde mixer werd uitgezonden. Op het half uur werd de mix onderbroken door een presentator, die de afgespeelde platen van het eerste half uur afkondigde, waarna de mix werd vervolgd. Aan het einde van het programma werd nogmaals afgekondigd welke platen er het laatste half uur gedraaid waren.

De laatste aflevering werd door de drie vaste mixers ingevuld van ongeveer 20 minuten per set.

Doelgroep[bewerken]

De doelgroep van het programma bestond voornamelijk uit het jongere discopubliek.

DJ's[bewerken]

De mixen werden verzorgd door drie DJ's die afwisselend de mixen samenstelde en voorafgaand aan de uitzending live in mixte en opnamen in de NOB studio in Hilversum. De drie DJ's waren Leo Cotino, Peter Duykersloot en Ton Poppes. In totaal zijn er 82 (?) afleveringen uitgezonden.
